Their first flight took off on 19th May 2004 from Katowice. Today Wizz Air has 6 operating bases in the region: Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria and Bucharest in Romania, offering flights to close to 50 destinations. Wizz Air will open its 7th base in Poznan in January 2008.
